You’re at a party and you’ve just met a woman who’s made you believe in fate. Gabrielle Chanel once said, “I want to be a part of what is to come”. You just want to be wherever that woman is. But you can’t recall her name… was it Anna? Or Qianbei? Maybe Maguette? To celebrate the launch of Chanel’s cosmic-inspired 2025 Holiday Collection, SIDE-NOTE presents three women and their fictitious dream girl alter egos, who embody the duality of the limited edition release.
Meet Anna, a Russian actress who starts her evening sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of her mirror, makeup splayed around like her own private constellation. Never late to the party because she is the party, Anna can usually be found charming the DJ who doesn’t know her boyfriend is on his way. He’ll probably walk away as everyone does after a conversation with Anna: with a twinkle in his eye, feeling slightly buzzed despite being completely sober. Anna’s religion is the perfect shade of lipstick, aka Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in Abstrait. Flirtatious, but never obnoxious, she’s who you call if you need guest list.

Meet Qianbei, a corporate lawyer who you might not actually see at the party, she rarely stays long. Qianbei likes fast cars and conversations that get to the point. She believes real luxury is found in the details, like her red Le Liner de Chanel, or the Chanel Le Vernis in Cosmique that catches your eye as she lights a cigarette. Qianbei probably already has somewhere else she needs to be, catch her if you can.

At the party, Maguette will be found out the back having DnMs about Kierkegaard’s theories of romance: “true love is a conscious choice that balances desire with responsibility and self-reflection”.
