Known primarily for his work with the late Italian theatre, opera, and film director Luchino Visconti, who would later become his partner, Berger remains somewhat of a cultural icon. Berger’s credits include roles with Romy Schneider, Elizabeth Taylor, Charlotte Rampling and Burt Lancaster while his performance as Martin von Essenbeck in Visconti’s ‘The Damned’ earned him a Golden Globe nomination. A permanent fixture within the eponymous social circles of the 1970s (which involved many self-proclaimed affairs), Berger appeared in Madonna’s ‘Erotica’ music video, and her book Sex’, and regularly sat for Helmut Newton, Mary Ellen Mark and David Bailey. Subsequently, British press once termed Berger, ‘The most beautiful man in the world’.  Gracie Otto sits down for a birthday breakfast (of sorts) with the Austrian actor, who spent the summer of 2018 in Ibiza.
